Fragrant Tolumnia!
Default Fragrant Tolumnia!

This is Genting Pink Lady.
It looks just like Pretty N Pink with yellow in the center.

I have seen quite a few of this hybrid in bloom but this one has a strong scent.

Two of my other tolumnias of different cross are also scented, but this one is very strongly scented that I can walk by and sense the smell.

It is pleasant floral/sweet kind of scent.
What a nice surprise!

It is very strong in the morning hours and then the scent lingers on well into the afternoon hours.

It has been open and the scent kicked in just today.
I didn't expect it so I had to search for it.
I smelled something nice by the window and I thought, I don't have any cattleyas in bloom, this is not from my Lou Sneary. then I began to sniff at everything and finally landed on this one.

I was going to trace back the ancestry of Genting Pink Lady to see if I could figure out where the scent comes from, but it isn't a registered hybrid as far as I can see, though it is obviously widely distributed. Anyone know what this little gem is supposed to be?

Lovely!
Hmm... I have never noticed any fragrance on mine ... I will have to remember to check when it blooms again.

I just got lucky.
I have seen many plants of this same hybrid but none had any scent.

It is such a bonus because the fragrance is on all day and well into the evening.
Maybe mutation? hahaha

Tolumnias are cool! Very showy display for a minimal amount of space. Nice, and the fragrance is an extra bonus.
