I always had problems with these getting wrinkled leaves and poor growth but I think I have cracked it now by giving them more humidity, more water and using rain water. I have 3 of these flowering at the moment and the fragrance is superb.

Thank you so much Marco for posting this photo. This plant was on sale as a bare root plant--with four psuedobulbs and three growths for US$8. I do not buy Oncidium but I have heard of this plant and it was so inexpensive, I couldn't resist.

Nate's Orchids out of Illinois was selling these at the Michiana Orchid Show at Saint Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana.

One of my favorites, can't seem to grow it.

I'll have to enjoy looking at yours instead. Nice plant!

It is beautiful. I have been coming to the same conclusion. I have been a little stingy with water and humidity!

That is beautiful. I love vibrant reds, it sort of reminds me of the Slc. Jewel Box 'Dark Waters' in the liveliness of the color.

I'm yet another person who's learning the long way that Oncids like a decent amount of water to be truly happy.

Yes I agree. There are a lot of warnings out there about overwaterting being the main cause of orchid death that I think I was overly cautious and have come to realise that a lot like a fair amount of water. I found that friends who knew nothing about orchids and had a supermarket phalenopsis or two and had them often sitting in a bit of water (always said to be a no-no) had more vigorous and free flowering plants than mine so now while I dont let them sit in water they do get a good soak once a week minimum.
