Default Macroclinium aurorae

Endemic to Junín, Peru at elevations of 750 meters …. subtribe of Oncidiinae so I give it Oncidium culture…. Some of these are well known, but many of the genera are rarely seen in collections and yet deserve to be more widely known….I got this plant from Marni Turkel a couple of years ago….this orchid plant is a super miniature, hot to warm growing epiphyte with tiny inconspicuous pseudo bulbs=this is my smallest mule ear Oncidium…. late blooming in my environment with flowers of wrinkled garnet-red carrying several (9 to 15) flowers in an apical crowded sphere of blooms, pretty much like fireworks. The lips look like Cupid’s arrow….it sends out new spikes from the old spikes, the plant can be in bloom for a good while.
Some of the species in this genus can be short-lived….I hope this stays with me for a while….
