Milt binottii with escaping bulbs

I just received this lovely plant yesterday- I'm cracking up at the bulbs but also a bit intimidated at the repotting adventure! The blooms are gorgeous. This is 'Dark Peloric'. It's in a 4" pot now.

My spectabalis mooreliana is doing the same so whatever you do should work for me! I posted a ? about this already but no takers. Plant does ramble so maybe a long,horizontal raft would work or mount for that matter.Hmmmm

I'm such a beginner that all I really know how to do is pot. Maybe I'll put it in an 6 or 8" and see how it does...I think it's quite an independent plant and will do whatever it wants as long as I don't kill it.

You can find pots called "bulb pans" in varying diameters and plastic or clay. They are much shallower than standard pots. Even a large diameter bulb pan would dry out much faster than an equivalent standard pot because it is much shallower.

Bulb pans are near impossible to find in my part of NJ and just had a friend pick up some small ones for some bulbos from Va. I've cut down plastic pots and that works quite well for now.

Usually you have to order large numbers when you buy online to get a good price... maybe others in your local society would want to go in on an order?
