As a matter of fact, you could grow this one just like that for phalaenopsis.
The species prefers low to medium level sunlight, higher humidity than other common oncidiums and well-drained medium.
You can grow yours in a smaller clay pot and use moss as its medium. Some books say this species enjoys cool temperature but I have successfully grown this one outdoors even it is usually higher than 30 ℃ in summer here.

Steve, still something important. The plant dislikes rain on their leaves, especially in hot summer. Rain usually causes black rot or soft rot which could be deadly to this species.

Hmmmm...... again, thanks for the advice! I grow all my guys outside, so Ill have to be very vigilant with this one. However, our summers in Hawaii are fairly mild, rarely hitting 90 degrees F (32 degrees C). Are your summers in Taiwan warmer than that or do you think summers in Hawaii might be warm enough for rot as well?

Oncidium ornithorhynchum bloomed again. But another plant died while a typhoon hit here this late summer.

It's beautiful Pheli...thanks for the update.
I think I'll be adding this species to my wish list too.

Thanks for the kind words!
David, it is a good oncidium worth growing.
