Default New growth on Hwra. Lava Burst "Puanani"

I just wanted to show off the new growth on my baby

The pseudobulbs were that shriveled when I bought it, and I was 80% sure it wasn't going to make it. I'm still an orchid newbie, so I'm very excited that not only is it still alive, it has a new baby bulb!

P.S. I'm sorry the pictures are sideways--they weren't that way when I uploaded them. Does anyone have any tips on how to fix that?

That plant is far from dead! Actually, the Lava Burst is one of the easiest orchids to grow and keep blooming. Mine produces 3-4 spikes per growth, so it's always in bloom. I have mine in a clay pot with lava rock, and I water it every day. You simply cannot overwater a plant in lava rock.

For photos, the only thing that has worked for me is to download the photo to the computer, use a photo editing app to rotate the photo 90°, save it, then rotate it back and save it again. Stupid, but it works.

Looks like the plant is doing good at growing

I do the same as Al to fix the photo thing. Seems to work if you do this on a PC, now certain it works on a Mac though.
