Odontocidium Cantante 'Pumpkin Patch' (with tulips)
Hi everyone and Happy Easter,
I have attached 5 pics of Odcdm. Cantante 'Pumpkin Patch'. I believe that it is a fairly common intergeneric, but surprisingly, no one has put it on Orchid Board when I did a search. Mine just has one spike, but it is a beauty, being 38" tall.
I couldn't resist throwing in a couple of pics with Tulipa 'Princess Irene'. I wish that I had more knowledge and skills with photography. Our home has absolutely nothing that I could have used as a black background, 'cause I think that the pictures would be stunning with a black backdrop.
I hope that you like the pictures! Thanks, Greg.

Thanks!
I went for a long period of time without anything blooming (almost coinciding with my wife's bladder cancer story and time duration). I think that you were one of the people that read about it on Orchid Board under 'lots of phals'. But it is weird, that for the first time since the beginning of last November, my wife is not facing a crisis, or ICU unit in the hospital, ambulance rides, or any life threatening circumstances! One thing for sure, most 'orchid' people are a very caring group of people. I have had orchid dealers wanting to send free orchids as a gift for Deb, but I just don't have the room anymore to put them anywhere, or the time to take care of them. Thanks for the compliment! By the way, those beautiful tulips I found at Walmart, and they were the only 2 like them out of 100's. They will be going in the ground outside in a little bit from now. Greg.

I bet the beautiful blooms will help cheer you and your wife up too. Good luck with everything.

Many thanks!
Thank you everyone, not only for the compliments of the orchid (and tulips), but mostly for the well wishes for Deb. If you want to see this long cancer journey in black and white, you can go to caringbridge.com and enter Deborah Janick, click the journal tab, and you will be able to follow the whole journey with the ups and downs, from the beginning to the present. It is like a well kept diary with comments from relatives and friends.
