Repotting/reblooming question

I have an oncidium/ondontoglossum hybrid that is about done blooming. Its my one and only. It appears pretty crammed in the pot. My questions are: should I repot and may I assume I should cut off the spike before repotting? It is the beginning of spring here so seems like now is a good time repot. Also wondering if I can set this orchid outside for a while. Thanks

Ideally, the best time to repot is when there is new growth with roots starting ... That said, it should be fine to repot now, even if that's not the case.

The spike won't do anything more, so you can cut it, or not - It doesn't hurt anything either way.

I don't know what your summer temps are like, but it should be fine outside in summer - just keep it out of hot mid-day or afternoon sun. It can probably take a few hours of morning or later afternoon light (as long as the afternoon isn't scorching hot). If the amount of light it will get outside is more than it has been getting inside, make sure to gradually move it into the brighter light spot.

I can probably set it on the patio which is on the north side of our sun room where it will get plenty of non-direct sunlight.....though the deer may present an issue. The patio is yet to be poured, so dont know if the deer will come up on the patio and munch on things. I have 3 cymbidiums I would like to set outside too.
