Oncidium sphacelatum, The Big O, Begins Flowering
Apologies for the poor picture quality. Didn't have the good cam with me. This monster Oncidium, 7 ft in diameter, has hundresds of spikes and a few have begun flowering. Of course, this is way too early as it's a spring bloomer normally. This year has been strange like that for other orchids also. This orchid has been spiking since November and is still sending them up. It looks like I may not get the big ball of yellow I was hoping for, but for sure it will offer months of flowers!
