Sorry to take so long. I've been chairing an orchid show that opened today. I took this picture in our exhibit. It is Tolu. Pink Panther and it won a third prize in today's show judging. You can see the mount in this picture. I bought it at a pet store and its advertised intent is for lizard cages. I did drill a hole in the indent so that the water would not pool there.
I'll get pictures of my other mounts, when I get a chance.

WOW! Tolumnia's are one of my favorite Genus in the Oncidium alliance. They have such delicate, beautiful flowers and range in such a contrast of colours.

I've been flipping through a Hydrofarm catalog my dad picked up at the hydroponic store and I saw a product that looks like the the coconut fiber strips you mentioned. The product is called CocoTek Grow Mat and it comes in rolls that are 4'x8' and 1/4" thick. The fibers are held together by organic latex. Think it'd work?

Thank you for sharing. I believe this is the same product that I am using for my mounts. This should work. I need to order some when I run out of the supply that I have.

Here are a couple more in bloom. The first (Rodrumnia Imua) has a very large skirt measuring 1-3/8 inches across. The second (Rodrumnia Satinglo) is very colorful. Both have very tall stems.

This beautiful, spotted flowers are from Rodrumnia Pixie Dancer. The skirt of the flowers are quite large measuring 1-1/4 inch across. The flowers are held up by two strong spikes, the longest measuring about 14 inches long.

Hi Ryan. Most of the equitants that are shown on this thread came from Gavin Yamada of Puanani Orchids located on the Windward side of Oahu. About a year ago Gavin announced that he was getting out of the orchid business so I had an opportunity to purchase a large number of his equitants, sight unseen. The larger plants are blooming now for the first time for me. I watch with amazement as the plants bloom--so many colors and designs. I was also able to get Gavin's last crosses in flasks so it will be a while before I see all the results of his breeding. Unfortunately, I had to cut back growing other orchid genera, especially cattleyas and dendrobiums, because of the limited space at my residence.

Ah ok. Well it was worth asking. I assume he's out of business now?

This cross (Tolumnia Puppy Love) was made many years ago by Richella Orchids of Honolulu. The flowers are smaller than average but the colors are striking with the white fringe in the center of the skirt.
