I was just going to start a post about this plant. I got one a year ago while at the NYBG orchid show. I just can't get him to do anything. How are you growing yours? Light, watering etc... I really wished for a spike by now and it just doesn't seem to be happening.

edit to add: mine is in a west window that gets sun right now, but once the leaves come out probably not much sun.

I used to think cattleyas were my favorite now I think odontoglossum and their hybrids are the bees knees as well!!! That is a fascinatingly patterned bloom thanks for sharing.

Oh, since my last post here, I have gotten a Bllra. Tahoma Glacier "Green." It is huge and I,ve gotten 3 spikes since February. It just keeps chugging. Like the Howards Dream, in photos the flowers look kind of blah. Up close they are like ice crystals refracting light, and translucent. The plant itself is "burley" as someone put it. The pseudo bulbs are huge, the roots are thick and not so prone to drying as other oncidium hybrids. When I do see a Howards Dream, I won't hesitate to get it now.
