If it has a large number of Pseudobulbs, then you can divide it up into 3,4,5,or 6 bulbs per division. Remove any dead roots, replant the divisions into smaller pots, with fresh potting mix.
Keep them on the dry side for about 10-14 days for the division, and root cuts to heal.
Misting the leaves is better than watering during that time. Then light watering until new roots appear. Wait for new growth to appear, and longer roots too before fertilizing, and heavy watering.
The more bulbs in the division, the sooner it will recover, and bloom. The oldest bulbs are usually tossed, or you can bag them with a little moist Sphagnum moss to see if it has any viable growing points (eyes) left. If it does, it will sprout a new shoot, and roots in about a month in good light. Pot sizes will depend on the size of the division taken, and root mass to be planted.

I hope that helps!
