Hehe, okay so maybe I have several addictions that I may need to account for, My catasetum is bad but....this one may become even worse.....I now have 4 and counting possibly...lol.

Heres my list and a picture of all my babies.

1. Colmonara Wildcat
2. Vulstekeara Cindy "Pinky Lee" Miltona Oncidium Alli. (On its way)
3. Beallara Pacific Pastel "Mauna Loa' Oncid
4. Alcra Sunday Best "Muffin" Am AOS Its my biggest one.

They are in a covered East facing window They get several hours of light from different windows the room they are in has 3 large ones. and the light from my kitchen windows come through as well. They get good humidity from from the curtains being closed and the windows cracked open. My African Violets have quadrupled in size, since I moved them in there. Sheldon especially appreciates the extra love. lol.

Love the window display. If I can keep my Sharry Baby alive and get it to rebloom, then I'll probably become an oncidium addict too. I'm in love with Oncidium Twinkle Fragrant Fantasy. I love that I can have smelly flowers in my house and not have to spend money on expensive "house smells." Orchids are actually cheaper!

You keep African Violets! You have just become my new best friend! Any tips on reblooming them? I've had no luck with mine. Also, what fertilizer do you use? I JUST found a place here that carries Jack's. Mine seem to be growing just fine, but I think that I might have planted them in a pot that was too large, the self watering pots may be keeping them too damp and I think I might also have suckers growing in both of them.

Sorry for the hijack. Maybe we should PM about the African Violets. LOL!

Yes they are my babies. Umm mid bright covered sun. In a window sill with bright filtered light. I use the miracle gro liquid African Violet food usually 10-12 drops per like a bottle of water it also says they hate having wet leaves so I have thwm in a self watering planter heres what they look like thus far.

I think mine are getting plenty of light, but I've been trying to figure out how to fertilize in these self-watering pots I have without flooding the poor plant. The pots I'm using have no drainage at all. I have been considering removing them from these pots and repotting in 4 inch clay pots, due to the lack of drainage.

I'm also pretty sure that I have suckers in these guys, which is probably pulling energy from the mother plant so that it can't rebloom, but I don't know what to do about it.

Here are mine. They have purple and white variegated blooms. The damage on the leaves is mechanical.

If you can put them near a fan or a window that would help. Mine get a breeze 24/7 almost. And bright but filtered light... mine is pink a white with pink/purple shades and a dark blue/purple.

I can do both. I was planning to move them to my office this winter, which is the "orchid" room. I have lighting set up in there for the 'chids and a fan going in there on low. It's just that where I live, in December being near the window might get too cold. Temps in Eastern WA get pretty danged cold for tropical plants.

Wow, that was obvious! I feel silly now. Apparently you can just dump the one-quarter strength fertilizer solution right into the reservoir.

I'm having the same problem with the violets that I'm having with my orchids. I'm making this out to be a LOT harder than it is. I keep thinking that there has to be this really complicated system that has to be followed step by step, or else all of my orchids will die a tragic and horrible death LOL!

Thanks for your help again and for allowing me to hijack! I feel a lot better about the violets now!

I can't wait to see this window sill of yours when it's all in bloom. I bet that will be a sight to see!
