I'm about to order a demarmoara and was wondering if any one has any culture recommendations. Does it need to be outside in warmer months to get a touch of direct early morning sun? I would hope I dont have to because I'm finding it to be kind of a pain to bring my outside orchids inside for winter with out hitch hikers in the bark mixes. I found one I really like and dont have any onc alliance plants yet. Any light, temp, and humidity suggestions would be great thank you.
I only have one but it is happy growing in the same conditions as any Oncidium or Brassia. Lots of light and a fair amount of water. I use a free draining mix of coarse bark and volcanic rock.
I can give it east, west, and southern exposures. East and west through sheer curtains and southern through blinds or direct.
And I actually meant degarmoara if it makes a difference.
I was planning on seeing how it would do starting out in the east facing window with most of my other plants for sake of humidity.
East or west facing window should be good - may not need sheer curtains - depends on HOW much sun the window gets. East facing is usually my first choice if there is space available.
