This is one of my first mounted orchids. I got it from the SB Orchid Estate. The blooms are small and delicate. It really does look like mist. The flowers open a very creamy yellow, and then fade a bit over time.

It is growing on a cork slab. The branched spike is about 2 feet. It can take quite a bit of light, but it does burn easily (I have the red pbulbs to prove it!). Needs misting daily, more when the weather it very warm.

It doesn't seem to be a registered name - I could not find it in OrchidWiz or RHS. Does anyone know?

Really lovely!

Sorry can't help on the name. Can't see it registered with the RHS under Ionocidium. There are a lot registered called Misty but I couldn't spot anything that might be it with a changed genus.

Mounted orchids are the best! They take up far less room, and since they aren't buried in substrate you have a much better view of the root system. I'm also very partial to miniatures

Magnificent display of blooms. I love the colors and form. Maybe this is still new and in the process of registration. It would help to ask the seller/grower for its parents.

I wonder if it might be Incdm. Popcorn. It looks similar and when I Googled it, there is a Incdm. Popcorn 'Misty'. Have a look in OW, it looks similar although there seems to be some colour variation. Description of the one awarded one sounds similar to yours.

It definitely isn't Popcorn.

I hosted Al Koch of Gold Country Orchids this week for the North jersey Orchid Society and told me it was one of his. It isn't registered because one of the parents isn't known.

I was very impressed at the orchids Al brought for sale, and his presentation on Dendrobium culture based on parentage. He also spoke at the Manhattan Orchid Society this week on miniatures for apartment growing, also excellent.
