A new zygo... again. Male
Default A new zygo... again.

Just when I think I've gotten good at resisting the orchids at my local Trader Joe's, I see two I need to have.
This new one is a zygo... NOID of course.
Lovely fragrance, small stature, beautiful purple grey and green petals, and a stunning deep vibrant purple blue lip.
I only have two photos since it was dark out when I bought it. I apologise for the quality.
The last one is to highlight the purple grey colour on the petals.

Oh, yeah, I would have bought that too!

By the way, is the color true to reality or did the photo come out more blue than the flowers acutally are?

It has so much beautiful blue hue to them.

Mine looks just like yours except the blue tone is overall very very much less.
It still smells really great all day, very floriferous (never seen so many per spike on this type) and the whole plant is rather smallish, which I really like.

It's nice to have validation. The people at home were not amused.

Beautiful isn't it? That colour is true to reality. I will say that the lamp brought out a bit more blue tones in the lip. It does look like that in person. But only under that lamp. In the day it's a deep rich royal purple.
But it's still very blue in person.
I'm loving its small size...
I'll try and take accurate day pictures.

My friend has one, also from Trader Joe's, and she's upset with me.
Hers is out of flower but she's convinced the lip on mine is much bluer than hers.

It's opened two more flowers.
But the roots are desiccated. The remaining buds are very shriveled and might drop off.
New roots are coming in though.

This plant likes to stay moist in the root zone from what I read, and I've been keeping mine very moist.
So far all is well.
