I would love to try a psychopsis hybrid, but I read that their natural habitat has 80 degree winter days. My greenhouse is in Oregon, where winter sun is rare. Temps rarely get that high in a greenhouse where the heat is set to go on at 60 degrees, like mine is. It will be under winter lights. I could put in near a seed-starting heating mat if necessary. I have found little mention of necessary winter highs in my research so far. Thanks
I bought a Psychopsis last fall and have a greenhouse that is heated to 55F at night and 65F in the day for winter temps. I set my plant on a seedling heat mat for the winter and it seemed to do well. It has been in bloom for a while, just starting it's 3rd bloom on that spike. It has since grown a new growth that is almost mature and I see nice roots in the clear pot.
Your winter conditions sound similar so setting on or near a heat mat should be OK for you. I had it under T5 lights.
Thank you so much. I use T5 lights also. Do you use the heat mat day and night?
I do leave it on night and day.
I can't really bring so many of mine indoors due to lack of space and a cat that likes to eat many of them. They all are in the greenhouse unless they are in bloom. then most of them come in for a while.
