Default Psychopsis 'Mariposa' in bloom

Late last week, my Psychopsis 'Mariposa' bloomed its first flower. Last night, it bloomed its second one. I'm overjoyed because when I first got this plant in February at the POE, I broke the first and tallest spike when I entered my car. Imagine how I felt... JUST bought a beautiful, soon-to-bloom Psychopsis orchid and breaking the spike almost immediately after purchase.
To top it off, the media it was in was so broken down, it was mostly just soil. So I had to repot it sometime in March. Fast forward about 5~ months, it FINALLY started to form a replacement spike/bud from the spike I broke.

6 months have passed and I can now enjoy its blooms!

And if you asked me, it looks like the flowers are overjoyed too. Call me crazy, but doesn't it look like it has its arms up in the air with a HUGE smile? Or is my imagination making me see things?

I have about the same luck with spikes. Very nice flowers. My Mendenhall has a few more years, I think. I have had it since just out of flask. Someday....

You sure that what you're seeing isn't a reflection from a window, and it's you with your arms up in the air & a big smile on your face?

Great growing!! And that's a really beautiful flower! (ps, I do kinda see that figure you were talkin about... Just had to poke a little fun )

Gorgeous festive flowers.
This orchid always bring me happiness.
Do not worry if you break a spike on this kind of plant....they will keep on flowering on the same spike anyways....the plant will just extend it.

I have new buds growing on the old spike and a new growth. Hopefully I'll soon see these beautiful flowers.

This is how the bud looks today. There's also a second bud in made and another new groth (the second).
