you may be lucky. It happened to mine but then after about 2 weeks the spike started growing.....and branching. Don't cut if off. I have a Onc Debutante, similar to yours with "mule" ears. The centre spike started growing again + the 2 branches.

Actually my Psycopsis did the same thing. I snapped it off when it was about 4 or 5 inches tall and it started growing again much like a Phal spike does when it is cut back at a node. The 2nd flower just opened today on it!

Don't you just hate when that happens! It could throw a side shoot and give you a few blooms anyway. It happens sometimes.

Yeah, I also had this happened and your plant has a few nodes left on the spike which may sprout branching spikes off them.

Well unfortunately the spike never branched , just withered. Hopefully next year will be worth the wait.

Woah, that's big! Yesterday I found the first spike on my Odontonia-- much thinner spike, and smaller but none-the-less, a spike!

That is scary-- especially if it only blooms once a year. I hope what is left may give you a flower. It may. I don't know. Good luck.
