Miltoniopsis are the "pansy" type and generally coolish growers, but hybrids can be more intermediate with some warmth tolerance.

Miltonias are generally intermediate to warm growers, I think, but some can tolerate some quite low temps for short periods. I grow Miltonia flavascens outdoors year-round in zone 9.

From the shape of the flowers is how I tell them apart. Your's looks like a Miltoniopsis. As Sonya said these are known as 'Pansy' Orchids because the flowers are thought to resemble a Pansy. Miltonia have more pointed looking petals which generally don't overlap/meet each other, Miltoniopsis has rounder petals whose edges meet or overlap each other.

I love the color. There was this almost exact same colored miltoniopsis at a show back in the spring.
While I was deciding whether or not to get it, a lady grabbed it. lol

and the price was quite high.

This plant does not do well in the hot climate.
Especially flowers will drop really soon if kept warm. so try and enjoy the flowers at an office or somewhere cool with a/c on all the time.
Then the flowers should last a long time like 2 months usually.

and fragrance is amazing in the morning into early afternoon.

Your post takes me back a year or so after I rebloomed my first phal, got the fever, and discovered the wide variety of orchids.

I water mine almost every day, they don't like to be dry. I agree the fragrance is really nice in the morning. Mine was pretty subtle though, so you may have to sniff from point blank.

I've seen red rim and they do look very alike.

If you can lower the temperature a little, then the fragrance will be back. Some plants just do not have strong fragrance either if at all.

One of my very fragrant miltoniopsis is in bloom again after its first flowering back in the spring.
It had very strong scent the first time but now in this heat, the fragrance is much weaker.
When I turned up the a/c, the fragrance was noticeably stronger.

Interesting how sensitive these plants are.
