This Miltonia is one of my rescue plants, today it decided to open a flower. Anyone have any clues as to it's heritage? I don't know whether it is a species or a hybrid, the flower is only quite small, maybe 3cm from top to bottom.

The picture makes it look quite pink, it's more of a very pale purple

I'm wondering about it maybe having spectabilis and regnellii in it's background? The regnellii would give it that green in the petals and the shape is more like a spectabilis.

Just curious really

And quite profuse in it's flowering. This is the first of 10 flowers

It certainly did make me think of spectabilis rosea or semi-alba or something like that, but if the flower is only 3cm tall, then it's a little on the small side for spectabilis. What are the spikes like? Is it just a single flower per spike or is there more than one flower per spike?

Very pretty whatever it is!

Two per spike. I'm thinking I might have underestimated the size of the flowers slightly. I just measured and they are actually about 5cm. Also this plant was severely neglected to flower size might improve now that it is getting better care.

Comparison photo with my spectabilis var moreliana hybrid (4N). You can see why I thought it looked tiny LOL

Just compared the resized image in that last photo and as it displays on my screen(apple Mac) that second pic is pretty spot on for life size for both of those.
