Very fast growing and will spike it asked nicely. Ok maybe not that easily but seriously, it has weed genes.

Very nice! I really like the colours. Mine is in spike too but not ready to bloom for a while. It only gets one straight spike, not nice and branchy like yours. Good looking plant. Mine has grown awesome roots in the past year so maybe it will take off now.

I've never seen a wildcat variety with this kind of coloring.
I see almost the same one except the lip is white, but yours got yellow lip.

Is your scented?

Yeah, wildcats grow fast and flower often. I see quite a few different varieties at TJ but those spotted leaves make me lose appetite. lol

Or the plants are just too big.

Thanks for sharing!

Really nice one

Oncostele Wildcat, maybe the 'Yellow Butterfly'

In case, 'Panther' is close but I'm less convinced.

Hiya! Yeah I know you hate the spots that come with oncidiums. I can't help myself with these though...beautiful plants.

No scent has been detected and the name tab said Onc wildcat '13'. It doesn't have the best petal shape but it does of on a nice show and it grows like a weed. So it stays!

Well, I never was a big fan of spots. I do find certain spotted flowers attractive and grow some.
As far as wildcats, I think now I am ok with most of them except for the one named Cheetah I think?
This is yellow with heavy dark red brown spotting/random pattern all over the flower.

Anyways, with or without fragrance, I like yours.
I see TJ carries about 6 different varieties of wildcat orchids. One dark variety and yellow one with white lip I found are scented.

How are the leaves??? green? spotted?

They're shorter than some Onc hybrids and so far grow pretty free of spots, even the tiny black ones that I find common among them.

The bulbs are short and far, too, not long and thin like so many.

Clean leaves sound great!!!

I love the short and fat pbs, although most oncidium types I see have rather oval shaped pbs.
I have two yellow dancing lady, one has typical oval pbs and the other one has this short fat pb, which I like.

I think the rounder bulbs make the plant more interesting whilst out of bloom. I was at Krull and smiths green house in December and they had some sort of Onc cross genetic hybrid that had nearly perfectly round bulbs. I meant to get one but the tolumnias took up the available room I had!
