Miltoniopsis Leo Holquin 'Robust' in bloom for Valentine's Day!
I bought this at an orchid show last Feb with two large blooms. This year it is giving me 3. It is also lightly scented. The blooms look like velvet!

These flowers look just like the one I had last spring. HUGE flowers and dark red velvet with nice scent in the morning. I threw it away because of the leaves.
Now, did you get this plant tested also and it came out negative??
The leaves in these pictures look horrible! (no offence, just expressing my reaction)
If I had one with leaves like that, it's out the door like in a second! lol
I still have 6 miltoniopsis ( I bought so many but most are gone) from last year. I got so lazy and never repotted any. They all have tons of new shoots but because of the old mix going sour, new shoots are small and wrinkly. my bad!
Anyway, five of these six have nearly perfectly fine green leaves, only a couple of leaves here and there show very subtle lighter circular areas on them.
One has some more pronouced lighter spots along with some black streaks on the lower part of the leaves, and I'm definitely going to get this one tested as I love this one. (white with black mast! but no fragrance).

Gorgeous flowers....
its really a challenge to get perfect leaves for these kind of plants....as much as possible I dont wet the leaves....I wipe it with neem oil on both blades to rule out fungi and bug infestation....but since it is oil then dont let it go directly in the sun
Congratulations for letting it bloom the second time in your posession....the test of a plant surviving in your care is when you let it bloom again and again...it means you are doing something right by them

Thanks everyone.
I don't mist these much or at all either. NYC, I think the white spots are like the waterfall drops that some Milts show. I also noticed my close up lens picked up some tiny pollen grains on some petals that got knocked off just from moving it!

Why don't you try growing these indoor?
I used to go to Miami a lot and my friends all had AC going, basically year around.
So these plants could actually do much better than anywhere else.
I would put these by bright window or sun porch, and with the AC on, the air will be so cool that these plants will do very well.
