Wilsonara Calico Gem in bloom again.
This is a repeat bloom from the previously flowered spike. I've never seen oncidium intergenerics do such thing. I like it though.
The picture shows plant with much of its very long old spike trimmed off. The flowers are slightly smaller than the last ones, but still nice surprise!
The plant is quite small, about 6 inch tall.

Wow - that's really cool! I haven't heard of that happening before. I do get spikes that stay green for a very long time after all the blooms have dropped - I usually leave them until they do die, just in case

Yeah, it is very unusual for oncidium types to rebloom from the same old spike. At least I've never seen or heard of such case before.
I usually leaves all the old spike as long as they are green. Only if they are too large to get in the way poking in my eyes and slapping my face when I walk by, then I would trim them off.
Some of my oncidiums have spikes that stay green forever and some turn brown shortly after flowers fade.

I have two plants. would love to send it your way. again, not sure how tight the mail control is in Canada.
This plant is great because it stays so small (slightly bigger than Onc.Twinkle) yet produce such big long spike with lots of large flowers. and rebloom from old spike. what more could you want in oncidium!
Ok, it doesn't have any scent, but still...

That's great that it stays small. Makes up for no scent. Talk to me in the spring!

These take low temperature quite well, so let me know when the weather stops being freezing in your area.

Sure, but that will likely be some time in April or at best, end of March!
