Nice photos! I have the same clone and it's blooming now. I have it on my coffee table. I like it better than Grower Ramsey. Though not as tall, that's okay. It doesn't block my view of the TV. I've noticed that onicidium pseudo bulbs have a tendancy to shrivel more quickly than catts even though the roots are neither dry nor over-watered. I wouldn't worry about it. Hope you will enjoy having this clone as much as I do.

I think you could have a dehydrated plant.

Here in Pennsylvania I water my Oncidium every other day all winter long to keep it healthy. It too is in bloom now and sucks up the water.

Enjoy your Sweet Sugar! Those golden flowers are quite a sight and very refreshing in January!

Beautiful blooms! I keep most of my oncidiums moist most of the time. I water the ones I have outdoors daily, which not only keeps them moist but also keeps fresh air running through the media and roots. My windowsill oncidiums get watered when they are about 50% dried. I have found my phals like the same routine. Outdoors they get almost daily water, keeping the media moist but keeping fresh air coming to the roots. And indoor phals get water when they are 50% dried.
