Rossioglossum Rawdon Jester In Bloom
Though I purchased this orchid about two years ago 'blooming size' these are per the vendor the first flowers it's ever had. Six blooms at about five inches each. Hope you enjoy the view. AL

To start with it grows warm. No less than 62 degrees F. as a low and 80 degrees F. as a high. Bright mostly indirect light with a couple of hours direct morning sun in the summer. I believe the additional artifical winter light helped develop blooms. The Rossioglossum Rawdon Jester probably preferrs more intermidiate temperatures, but it seems capable of adapting somewhat to 'warm growing' conditions. Just about all my Vandas and other orchids are 'warm growers' so its tolerating these temps is helpful. Do not confuse this with its relation of Rossioglossom grande which I can tell you from experience is a intermidiate or cool grower. I water every four days other than winter when its every five days. Fertilize with MSU Fertilizer for Well Water every other watering. This regimen is alternated with Fish Fertilizer with Seaweed Extract. I believe thats about it. Hope this helps! AL

Very nice Al. Can you post a picture of the entire plant? I'm curious how it compares in size to mine.

Thank you all for your kind comments. Silken, I will post a photo tonight or tomorrow of the actual plant. It came to me from the vendor in California nonblooming, but with perfect foilage. Now the leaves ain't so perfect, but it blooms. AL
