That is gorgeous Sonya! It would be such a show if it would produce more than one spike. If it is a Aliceara Sunday Best, I've been looking up the cultivation of its parents:

Miltonia spectabilis
Brassidium Gilded Urchin (Brassia arcuigera x Oncidium wentworthianum)

At least two of the species in it love high humidity and they all hate to dry out. Are your summers dry by any chance? Maybe if you watered it like hell in spring and summer or increased humidity (though you might already do this!)?

Ah! That could very well be it, Natalie! Summer daytime we have low humidity (goes up a fair amount at night), and can be extremely low during heat spells. This was the first year it even spiked outside autumn. That makes a lot of sense! If it should spike again in summer, I'll see about more water, and/or maybe bringing it inside. Thanks!
