So I don't need to snip anything or remove the remaining dead blooms that are hanging on????

Thanks so much for the info about "my new baby"!

I have gotten conflecting anwser's when I asked that same question! I cut the spike off after flowers have died (about 1 inch left). I am not sure if this is right but it doesn't seem to be hurting it.

I usually cut off the spike when half the flowers are dead. That way, the plant can rest and hopefully begin growing again that much sooner.
