Default Onc. stacyi

Hello OB!

Does anybody have any experience with this guy? These plants just recently became available and I have 3 decent sized seedlings coming my way. I've been admiring pictures of these species for quite some time online - and this is the first time I've seen them for sale (fairly priced too!) so I bought the last few available. I love the terete leaves and growth habit along with the stunning flowers.

I plan to pot them upside down in 4" teak baskets with sphagnum, high light, and allow to dry between waterings ...

What do you all think?

I don't know this one at all unfortunately. I found more pictures and information about it on the net under its synonym: Trichocentrum stayci. Have you tried looking for information under that name? It's not much, but this may point you in the right direction:

OrchidWiz says light 2000 to 3000 fc, Temps summer 85 day, 67 night, winter up to 90F and down to 58 at night. Water moderate to heavy spring thru fall and tapering off to less for winter. Quite dry period for 1 month in late winter. Plants do not like 'wet feet' and have a pendant growth habit so therefore do well mounted. I've condensed it but hope that helps.

Thank you very much Silken, and I apologize for the late reply.

Unfortunately I couldn't seem to get these guys happy - they came with rather crappy roots and after having them potted, in teak baskets, and then mounted (was trying to determine what was best for them) they never adapted to my conditions and slowly yellowed and drop each leaf. I've been kicking myself for this as I loved the terete growing leaves. Hopefully I can get my hands on a couple more plants later down the road :/

That's too bad. But I'm sure you will have better luck next time.
