My local TJ always has orchids, but not always one that I want. I did go as promised, but nothing as nice as what you got. I bought 3 from TJs last winter for a party and all 3 are in spike again now

Either from too dry or not enough roots to take it up. I find it very hard to keep these 'evenly' moist as they are known to prefer.
That is a good idea. All of them are quite large, so I guess I could do half and half. The only issue with that is it's going to produce a whole lot of pots to take up more space. lol

Unfortunately, the white one, my favorite, is the most wrinkled.
It might be more sensitive to lack of moisture, but I'm yet to find out the condition of their roots soon.
I doubt it's in their genetic because when I first bought them, all the leaves were perfectly straight.

Well, with that price I don't complain much, but I have to say that most of the time, most of them orchids at TJ are in not great quality/conditions.
They are meant to be for a few weeks' enjoyment of the bloom. period!

I do find a cute one or two, or three when I'm really lucky, in healthy looking condition. That's the only time I buy orchids at TJ, and this doesn't happen too often.

Gotta be on the lookout everytime I visit the store.
and don't keep your hope too high, that way if you don't find anything good, which is the case most of the time, the disappointment isn't too sever, and if you do find somethig good, then it comes as a nice surprise.

You'll have to keep them in air-conditioned room.

I didn't find a fragrant one, but it's beauty makes up for the lack of fragrance. 4 spikes and a few new growths. Together with this I got two out of bloom cattleya hybrids for less than 5 euro.

Any idea on what cross it could be?

Many more blooms have opened now. It's quite a show.
