Congrats on yours!
This is the best flowering I've ever got too!

Diligent watering is the key I think. Even with the less than ideal humidity level at home, keeping them watered enough prevent bud blasts towards the end of growing spikes.

Mine are so happy that I'm excited about them! The last time I grew them I didn't know as much about them. I hope I get bloom like yours!

will open anytime now! maybe over this weekend. the weather got colder this week and the growth of the bud development has slowed a bit.

can't get enough of looking at those tiny buds growing.

Tolumnias spiking!
Default Another Pretty N Pink in full bloom

This one has exact same number of flowers as the other one does. 13. (the first picture shows both plants)
The other one is now winding down though.

It is interesting how the other one has its flowers spaced out while this one has its flowers quite close to one another.

I like them either way!

The second picture shows one flower that looks rather odd. hmmmm

My tolumnia's spike seems to have stalled. It hasn't grown for the last month, but it doesn't help that almost 2 weeks ago my cat tried to eat it, so the spike now has a divet in it about an inch and a half from the top. The spike is a total of maybe 8 inches right now and isn't drying up, so I have no idea what it is going to do! With the colder temps and more central heat running, I have been misting it every day and watering it twice a week.

My first thought was underwatering, but since you mentioned that you mist it every day, I don't think that's it.

Check the very tip of the spike and see what it looks like. As long as it is not dry, it is still growing.
To me, 8 inch is still immature length although the length of spike can vary depending on the plant.
Mine are all at least 14 in and longer when in bloom.
The only time I had tolumnia spik blast was when I forgot to water them.

Make sure it isn't being hit by cold draft (or warm draft).

It should continue to grow or make branching spike off the main one if the main spike is damaged in any way.

Wish you all the best!

No problem!

If the tip isn't dry, then it's all good I believe.
Are you sure it hasn't grown at all in the past one month??

I think mine took about two months or less from a short spike to full bloom.
but then, I grow mine by the south window and it gets quite warm during the day.

It started spiking around the end of November/beginning of December. If it has grown in the past month, it has been *very* little. I might try putting it in my south facing window with some other higher light plants and see if that helps.
