Default Wilsonara Calico Gem "Green Valley"

Good sized flowers (nearly 3 in across) on a petite plant (barely 8 in tall).
I hope this plant is not one of those cool growing intergeneric orchids.
I like the tall arching spikes with lots of big flowers on such small plants.

One interesting thing about this plant is the color change of flowers. Lip is yellow and the center of the flowers are white when first open, then in a day or two, the whole thing turn light pink just like the rest of the flower.

I like them all pink, but would have liked it even more if the lip stayed yellow.

I tried to capture this difference in picturs but didn't come out too good. you can still sort of see the difference in last two pictures below.

I like them. small plants with many large flowers on tall spikes.
I suspect this is a cool grower because the temperature isn't hot anymore, but these guys are showing wrinkles on their pbs already.

oh, well...enjoy the flower show for now I guess.

Lovely! Nicely captured the color-change; too bad on that--I liked the contrast too. But beautiful! Where did you get it?

Beautiful. I have the same type of hybrid, and yes, the flower color does vary on the same spike. From pink to pale cream on mine.
Good growing!

I got them at Trader Joe's.
They are less than $10 each. What a bargain!
Usually most of the intergenerics they carry have issues with fungal or viral spots, either that or less flower counts.

This one had none of those and I liked them so I got them both.

Flower color is the same on all flowers. It's just that when they first open, the lip is yellow (the picture doesn't show much at all) and the center is nearly white. Once the flower is fully open, the whole thing is pink like in the rest of the pictures.

These plants must be the "cool" growing types as their pbs developed tons of wrinkles, an indication of heat stress.

After being in bloom for over a month, a few flowers are beginning to drop, but most are still intact.

Then just last week, I noticed something uncommon to oncidium types happening to these plants.
Flower spikes are beginning to branch!

I've only seen this happening to my tolumnias, nothing else. All my other intergenerics' spikes do not branch.

Anyways, this is definitely a plus. I'm looking forward to the prolonged blooming season for these plants.

I really doubt these will survive the summer heat. time will tell.

In the first picture, the first node on top is showing a small bump slightly breaking the dry node sheath. The second node is showing a small branching spike.
The second pic is a close up of the second node and its spike.
