I leave mine sitting right in the saucer of water, not raised above.

I just got one last night. The leaves seem dry. Not sure how to explain it better. Just not very plump I guess you could say. I sprinkled him with a bit of water. Any ideas on how to "liven" him up a bit? he seems healthy, has some small holes in a leaf or two, but otherwise seems ok. But I want him at his best!

I have several psychosis (including a couple of albas), and I've always believed the secret (if there is one) is: don't repot until it's totally, absolutely necessary. Mine have been in their pots (also from Carter Holmes) for several years, are blooming their heads off, and they haven't been touched. A fellow board member on the Oregon Orchid Society also has one that's been in bloom for seven years, never repotted. I know this runs contrary to what we do for virtually all other orchids, but so far, so good. When I do eventually repot, I will just "pot them on," that is, add more tree fern around the existing stuff and go up just one size in a clay pot. BTW, I grow almost everything else in coconut bark chips in clear plastic pots. Go figure....?
