Miltassia 'Izumi' watering on lava rocks Male
Default Miltassia 'Izumi' watering on lava rocks
I am curious if this izumi orchid needs to be re-potted and whether or not it's receiving enough water. It currently sits in lava rock. I am located in Houston with 70% humidity and 79-90F throughout 24 hours. The plant sits in bright shade on a 4th floor balcony with plenty of breeze. Should I put water and rocks underneath it?

The new growth is coming in smooth, not crimped or pleated. Crimped/pleated new growth foliage is an indication of too little water.

Looks good right now, I wouldn't set it in water.
