Default Milt. NOID but likely Herralexandre

This is the last of my Milts that have been blooming lately. Last June I attended as a guest to the Edmonton orchid society meeting and won this as a small plant in the raffle with no tag. It was badly in need of re-potting at the time too. It was a nice surprise to see what I got a year later To me it looks identical to Milt. Herralexandre and I haven't seen any other ones that are more similar. But I know it is officially still a NOID! A very sweet NOID anyways!

Nice! I think it looks just like my NOID I just got the other day. Now I know the name!

Lots more buds to open, but with the heat we've been getting here, I'm not sure if these guys will make it.

The plant is rather short compared to other miltoniopsis. I've been getting. smaller, the better for me. The flower is not small at all, though!

Thanks for looking. NYCorchidman, yours does look like the same hybrid. Mine is a much smaller plant but maybe in the future I will get multiple spikes

Oh I want one of these but I hear they can be difficult? Yours is lovely by the way. I want a pure yellow one.

It sounds like you grow your Nelly Isler fine and other Oncids based on that post so I think you would be fine. I have heard that the yellow ones are a bit more difficult to bloom and maybe not as robust but I think they are doing breeding to improve that (whoever 'they' are!). You could always find a yellow one and a companion of a different colour to keep it company!

Default A word on yellow milt...

I've heard the same thing about the yellow ones, but since there are so many yellow hybrids, some might be better than others. So basically if you see any yellow in bloom that you like, just grab it!

Of all the ones I bought earlier this year, the yellow had the shortest bloom period being barely one month versus over two months (my white one).
It is out of bloom now, but throwing lots and lots of new growths even in this hot weather here.
So I guess my yellow one is quite strong variety.
