My conditions are far from ideal, especially in summer. Much hotter and drier than they would like. So they are not perfect. But if you can make a little micro climate with better conditions then it helps. That's what I have done. Growing in a home or basement should be pretty good, but I have mine out in a greenhouse which is quite extreme in summer! They are called cool growers. But that's not so true as they just don't tolerate heat real well. They don't need or want real cool or cold temps.

Wow! I think miltoniopsis are so nice! But then I've also always loved pansies as well... I'm hopefully getting my first two miltoniopsis next week, and I hope I can make them flower. *Crossing fingers*

That's too bad its cooked! I try to shade mine during the hot part of the day and have a fogger running that provides extra humidity. Otherwise it is 30+ Celsius and very bright in the greenhouse for a few hours in the afternoon. They like moving air too. I know mine would be happier in a cooler place and I'm working on it, but they survive and bloom. If they can get a cooler break at night they can survive the hot temps better. Unless it has new growths, with some new roots, I wouldn't switch to S/H right now.

Thanks Lagoon! I can't get enough of these guys! The nice thing about them is that they are not space hogs like some orchids!

Beautiful. I've got one that I put in SH not long ago that is spiking. Until now she's got two (or maybe three, I'm not sure) bloom buds. I've got her outside in the garden, but I'd like to take her inside to enjoy the flowers. Can I do it now without changer of bud blast, or is it better to leave her alone and enjoy the flowers when I'm sitting outside in the garden?
