Default Miltoniopsis Gordon Hoyt 'Dolores'

My Milt. Gordon Hoyt 'Dolores' is blooming for the first time. One bloom and one more bud. This seemed to take forever to open but it is quite large. It is near crimson in colour, very deep, rich and velvety. I don't think the photo does it justice. The plant has 4 new growths and as soon as the blooms are done it needs re-potting. I got this from Paramount last year.

I like the crimson color and the candlelight effect at the center...

Thanks Lana, WhiteRabbit. The colour is beautiful and deep. I haven't detected a scent, but maybe by tomorrow as these type usually have some scent.

Beautiful! I love the color, so rich and velvety looking! Of all the Milts I've had (and promptly killed) some took a while to develop a fragrance, others get it soon after the blooms open.

Nice! Looks very similar to my NOID miltoniopsis. The flowers are very very big, dark wine red, very velvety sheen (and to the touch!), amazing strong fragrance (I would say sweet plus little bit of rhubarb jam, it's hard to describe).

The sawtooth pattern on the center on my flowers are rather blurry though.

Not as floriferous (2-4 per spike) as others I have (somewhere from 6 to 8 per spike).
I guess the flower size and the nice scent make up for the lesser flower count. The white one I have and this deep red one smell just amazing!!!
