The sawtooth pattern on the center on my flowers are rather blurry though.

Not as floriferous (2-4 per spike) as others I have (somewhere from 6 to 8 per spike).
I guess the flower size and the nice scent make up for the lesser flower count. The white one I have and this deep red one smell just amazing!!!
Yours are lovely. Similar, but if you look at the centre mask part, there is some difference. Yours has a white rim around the mask and maybe more of an orange centre. Mine is a very yellow centre and no rim of white around the jagged edges of the mask. Otherwise, mine too is dark, rich and velvety and very large blooms. My 2nd bud is now open as well. They are nicely scented but it took a few days and it is not terribly strong. Smells like a nice flower shop!

You are right. One orchid store told me my deep red one was Bert Field but I know that's not correct because Bert Field also has a clearly jagged mask.

I looked up quite a few dark (and not so dark) red Miltoniopsis and they all had clearly defined jagged mask or just bright yellow halo with no jagged feature.

Mine could be some old cross or the blurry jagged part of the mask is just poor manifestation. or neither of these!

Yes, I checked Bert Field in OrchidWiz and it looks almost identical to my Gordon Hoyt. I guess just enjoy it for its beauty. I have a couple NOID Milts and other NOID orchids and it doesn't diminish my enjoyment of them.

NYCorchidman, check my post from Feb. I bought a Milt. Leo Holquin 'Robust' and i think it has a mask very similar to yours. Of course yours is still a NOID, but this looks very similar and the blooms are huge as well.:

Yeah, but it's slightly different. oh, well...

By the way, I just realized the name of the website I've been looking at a lot is paramount in Calgary, Canada!

They have lots of oncidium alliance plants so I love to look at their pictures.
The good thing is they have reasonable price and they ship to the US, yay!!!

Hmmm really tempted to order a whole bunch of paphs and some oncidium types, but really have to make room first. now which one do I get rid of first?

They will be moving in Sept. or Oct. so if you want to order you should do it by Aug. or they will be in transit and likely not set up do do much business for a while. Then winter will be here.

Anyone want some burgundy? Wow!! Love that color. I understand the flower count goes up as the growth count goes up. The more growths the higher the flower count. I just love this color. Nice flower shape too. I'll look into acquiring one of these. I could add another GH....yeah...three is a good number....

Thanks! It's double the burgundy now as the other bud is fully open. Nicely fragrant and quite large blooms, 3 1/2 inches wide by 4 inches tall. This appears to be the plant's first bloom, so it would be nice to see more flowers next time.
