Tolumnia Tequila Sunrise in bloom
First flower opened this morning.
I have one tolumnia whose tag says Genting Orange and this flower looks very similar to that of Genting Orange.
The difference is Genting Orange flower had dark spots on the back of the lip, while this one has no spots but just darker shade or yellow/orange. maybe deeper color may develop soon.
Somehow, the tip of growing spike dried up and died on this one leaving only two buds. A new spike is developing off the main spike. I see about 4,5 buds on that one.

Excellent! Tolus can continue to bloom off the same spike for a while, or start new buds on a previously bloomed spike, so don't cut off the spike after flowers die, unless the spike is clearly dead

I love the bright lemon yellow on ths. Almost the same as Genting Orange but the skirt part is fuller on this one.
The second flower is open and the skirt looks all torn apart. still symmetrical, how funny!
I'm interested in seeing what the rest of the buds will open up to be like. hopefully full skirt!

Is yours just plain yellow like this one? I thought this one might have been mis-tagged. or just one of those variation among seedlings, which I hear is very common to happen.

Beautiful Tolus!! I love them, there's so much variation in colors that you can have an entire rainbow of them. I need to get a few now that I'm going to an apartment with better light.

Yours is very similar to mine. just more orange on the skirt. Mine got that orange coloring on the back and the front is all lemon yellow.
Yours is what I normally see as what's named as Tolumnia Tequila Sunrise on catalogues.
Camille- that is an exciting news! I was so excited about my move and other than being very very bright, I'm happy with it here at my new place. Things seems to grow better too.
