Beautiful! I have an orange hybrid coming in the mail that I bought on ebay. The last time I grew tolumnia I wasn't experienced and I killed them. This time I'm sure I'll have no problem.

It's amazing how the color can vary with the same plant and even individual blooms. Mine will often bloom with one color and change quite a bit before it is spent.

My rebloom from the spike was a different colour and I found as the flowers aged they changed colour as well!

That's nice to know. There are so many colour variations and I'm curious about the background of some of them. The initials are confusing sometimes. Unfortunately the one I have coming in the mail is just labeled tolumnia hybrid. I imagine the culture of the various types must be pretty similar.

I think the culture is similar. As far as I know they like it fairly warm and to be watered in the morning and be dry by evening. They're quite drought tolerant. I like that it is small and non demanding and has the cutest blooms!

Camille- that is an exciting news! I was so excited about my move and other than being very very bright, I'm happy with it here at my new place. Things seems to grow better too.

The windows of my new place could be better, but it's an improvement over what I have now (north-east)! My living room window (with an extrawide windowsill) faces east, so the Phals, Paphs, masdies will go there. My kitchen faces west though, but has no windowsill. First thing I'm going to do is install one, and there I'll put the light lovers (current ones and future ones) and on a stand near the window I'll have the medium light level plants (Oncs, certain Phals, Dens). I'm so excited!!!

I agree. When you are running low on space, it makes sense to get some of these beautiful little guys. I think they will happily grow alongside my vasco and renanstylis seedlings.

I love them, my only complaint being that they only bloom once a year.

I have heard that some of them bloom a few times a year.
