My Freak
Well, of course I wait patiently for 1 1/2 years for the 2 buds on this plant to do something. Then all of a sudden they both start to swell. My luck they both opened at the same time, the one in back is upside down, so rather than an awesome psycopsis....I have a weird deformed octopussy thing. Is this a cultural thing or do they do this? It was in flower when I bought it Nov/10...but I think the flower jumped off after day one and left 2 very small buds...which are now the octopus. Other than the way they are positioned, the flowers are beautiful. Thanks for looking & any info.

Twins! Are they right on the same spike? It may just be a one time thing.

Oh, and you may need to give it more water to get it to bloom. Mine did the pause thing too and then started blooming regularly once I started to really water it.

Gives new meaning to the word specimen Sonya! Guess I'll bring it to our meeting show table for some reactions.

Ok, now this is better, same plant ...with his "yellow" friend. Much better bloom this time and yes I have been trying to water/mist more frequently which appears to have been part of the problem. Thanks for looking.

I think it looks very cool -- a real conversation piece and still pretty to boot!
