Default Battlefield Psychopsis. papilio vs Mariposa

its a psychopsis battlefield with the papilio breaking out another spike and bud with 4 total now..and the mothership Mariposa coming in close behind with a massive frontal attack..

** image removed by mod**

a smoking hot mariposa is growing more buds and the quad papilios are flying high..

** image removed by mod**

its an all out aerial battle of the psychopsis...for domination of the sky in the garden...

** image removed by mod**
see you can have battles with your orchids

thank you again .

The Alba wins with a double bloom today..The spike has split like the other one. I could get 4 flowers now..

They are very intricate flowers both of them.. The albas color is so yellow the photos do not do justice to them. Lemon Yellow...This one should have gone to the orchid show but only one flower was open. I didnt think it looked good enough..It would have won a ribbon too I tell ya!!!

I like the Mariposa bec its large and voluminousness. Very nice coloring patterns, but I would have to say the papilio alba is special and my favorite so far.

I had no idea that spikes could split. At what point do they usually split? I need to keep an eye on mine then!

Best I can tell is the spike which had the 2nd bud on it was crowded and the plant pushed it off to the side after the 1st one opened. The 2nd bud now has a mini spike off the original..Both spikes now have forks in them. If you can keep these going I would bet a dollar it would split off and make another ...

Thanks You all ...orchids are fun again!!!
