And Orchidman, don't forget to thank the good quality NYC municipal water too! It also goes a long way, not too lessen your admirable tender loving care!

Very pretty! They like to grow in those tiny pots like you have yours in. Good growing.

but they are getting bigger now. they will eventually need new home. I think I'll transplant them all into a larger clay pot once flowers are gone.

Thanks for the infomation
Mine will be comming mounted, this is almost certain death in my house after a couple of weeks, LOL.
Its okay though I have plenty of clay pots. I'll grow it along side my catts and phrags and see how it goes from there .....

You will have to mist it or immerse in a water bucket everyday then. They will survive without water for a week or two, but you might find their leaves severely wrinkled and they will take some time to recover.
Maybe you could try and pot them up or place thin layer of moss around the root on the mount and keep it slightly wet all the time.

Or just put the entire mount in some kind of container to keep from drying too bad.

Today, I just thought about mounting some of my tolumnia on a T or V shaped tree log. Given that they got enough moisture (which will be VERY challenging here in the dry warm indoor setting), they should grow very well and would look stunning when in flower!
I am really considering that though. now I have to look around for that perfect mount material.

Default Genting Sunray in bloom again

It was in bloom early last month and then a little side spike branched off the main spike to make a few more buds, which are now beginning to open.

It is also growing new fans. Yay!!!

Congrats!! I have seen them branching out their flower stems readily. I broke down and bought one from ebay last month. Using awful tap LA water, but so far so good. Hopefully it will grow to be like yours!

If you don't have enough humidity, you might try vase culture.

Mine gets daily half an hour soaking in the sink and they seem to grow fine throwing new fans and lots of roots.
