Default My First Miltonia :)

This is my Milt. Breathless 'From Love' I purchased at Trader Joe's. I can't say I was interested in Miltonias before but this one just called to me.

ooh we have trader joes coming to houston I hope he has one of these left...heh..

They smell good too.

since its your 1st, I hope you don't leave it outside in the sun. It will be dead in the morning. They do not like to be hot or even warm. That plants pretty happy bec the leaves are all standing at attention as I call it. Keep it moist all the time and lots of fresh air. Nicely cooled down overnight as low as you can go will keep the leaves upright and looking strong.

I grow all my miltonopsis in, yeah you guessed it jars.. I have 1 bert fields double spiked budded( coming soon to orchid board), one rene komoda growing like a weed and a maui punch 'kalapana' thats just going to knock me down if it reblooms..

Beautiful plant and blooms! trader joe is coming to town ..heck with santa clause he dont have orchids!

Thanks everyone! I couldn't be happier with the colors of this one. I didn't have any orchids with reddish colors before.

RJ thanks for the growing tips, especially the tip on temps. I only took the plant outside for a picture. I will keep an eye on leaves as an indicator.

the richness of colors on these plants are some of the deepest luscious reds and violets you can find in an orchid. Now after its bloomed out please tell me if the foliage has the same fragrance. The plants foliage when not in bloom has the same scent but very mild. Ive been told not but I know what I smell and the miltonopsis have a very distinct fragrance. You can pick out it out in the dark in a pile of fragrant ones. Its very light but the leaves are scented.

and your welcome as always
