This is one of the new orchids I got last week at the NYBG orchid show.
It is about the size of my twinkle, yet much thicker leaves. very few small spots on the leaves.

This one has four smaller pbs and it looks like this is its first flowering. 7 dark orange brown spotty petals with bright yellow lip, there are also two swelling, which look to me like a branching off main spike. Unfortunately though, they are dried up dead looking.

The flowers has great scent to it all day and night.
sweet and citrusy. definitely a keeper!

What a nice one! I think it has a very wild look, with those leopard spots on it. Lucky you that it's also fragrant!

So I went back to the NYBG store to see what else I could find.
I found two pots of this little guy, except they were much larger, those spottings on the petals were a bit different, and the shape of the flowers were different. They are more pointy, almost like Tiger Crow Golden Girl.

I wonder if mine is just a baby or genetically smaller.
I counted how many pbs were on those bigger guys and it seems like mine might be just born small.

Hmmm....I sor of want to buy the bigger one too.
I am moving in just one week now and really have to wait until after I move before I buy anything more.
