Orchids4ever, is yours blooming size? If so, this likes cooler temps, lots of water, and lower light levels. I grow mine in a north-east window. In spring and summer it gets some direct sun in the morning.
NatalieS Yes it is-- it was in Flower when i got it.I got East and North Windows only. Cooler Temps-- its in a Spare Room- no Heat on at all. So only thing i can do , water more- right now i water once a Week. Maybe not enough? But i got no other wrinkeld Leaf- exept the one it came with.:( |

Mine didn't bloom last year after being a regular bloomer for a few years, so I guess it's not unusual for these to skip a year for no apparent reason. If the pbulbs look healthy and plump and the leaves are a good medium green, then just keep doing what you're doing and hopefully it'll bloom for you next year. :) |

Your flowers does have the colors of Barly Schwartz!
Monika- If potting medium is still good, there is no need to repot. It won't do anything. Is your plants pbs wrinkly? If not, then watering is alright. Most common reason for no flowers on orchids is not enough light. How bright is your east/north window? It is not really the direction windows are facing, but how bright it is. If you have other building or trees blocking the window, then light is not enough at all at east north windows. Up the light leve, and you might be pleasantly surprised. |

I have it a Foot away from the East Window,( no Trees or other Building, just a Fence) and about 3 feet away from my Growing Shelf with Lights for my other Orchids, i will move it closer so it gets more of the Light too- the leafs are a medium Green right now.And the pbs are not wrinkled. And i hope you are right that i will be surprised next Blooming Cycle :)Thank you. |
Ok, then you are fine with your current watering.
Well, even if there's no obstacle, east norht window only get so much light and 3 feet away seems too far. Oncidiums take a lot of light and even intergenerics do much better (flowering wise) in the brightest light possible. East window does not burn anything, so put your plant right up against the window and see if that helps with flowering. I expose all oncidium types in very bright south window. Unless I see leaves yellowing, I leave them there. all the best! |
