Default Tolumnia Orchidom Tender Mercies

I was given this Tolumnia Orchidom Tender Mercies two years ago by a friend who thinks I walk on water when it comes to orchids (of course that's because he knows next to nothing about orchids. One of the things that he doesn't know is that I have killed every Tolumnia that I have owned, I have a very heavy watering hand. So I was bound and determined to make this one grow. I put it up in the rafters of the greenhouse and forgot about it. The friend was over today and asked about the plant, I was just about to tel him that I had killed it when he looked up and found this. He no longer thinks I walk on water, he knows it.

If your heavy handed when it comes to watering your tollies, you should mount a few and see how they fare.

Great story to this beautiful Tolumnia! Sometimes neglect is the best thing we can do to a plant, I hope you throw it back up in the rafters once it's done blooming. After all, you have a reputation to keep up now!

As the old saying goes "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I think I'll leave this one in the rafters and never buy another. I truely believe, if you can't grow it well you should get rid of it and not torture it to death.
