Rrm. Orchidom Bright Dawn (or at least the tag says that)
I bought this Tolumnia from C.R. Orchids last spring. Today it has just started opening buds on 1 of the 2 spikes. But from what I can tell, this has the wrong tag.
I'm waiting for Dino from C.R. Orchids to get back to me with a possible identity. But I was going to enter it at the Edmonton show. I leave Thurs. morning. Now I have a NOID
Anyone care to take a stab at what it might be. Dino has lots on his website and some with no photos. He could well be out of the country as no word all day today from him.
The blooms in the photo haven't quite spread all the way open. The outside of the buds is pink so quite a surprise to see a yellow and sunset tone bloom!

Wow - that's beautiful - I love the coloring!
Sorry you are without a proper name - hopefully someone may be able to help!

If this is a hybrid and not a mericlone, I would'nt be surprised if it doesn't look like pictures you've found. Tolumnias are known to be extremely variable, with a single pod having a ginormous amount of differences.

Well, it could be. But the tag also has a number SAV2622 and on Orchidom's web site it shows 3 photos of this hybrid and all are very true pink with slight variations, but nothing like mine! Dino's own photo for Orchidom Bright Dawn doesn't resemble the ones on Orchidom's website either, but is very spotted with the pink and burgundy and no sign of yellow like mine. What a pain!

Silken -
Go back to the Orchidom site at this link, I do believe that this is your cross:
Orchidom Pic: SAV2597Af.JPG
I know one of the owners of the company in the Dominican Republic who lives here in the states and have dealt with them on a professional level. Their Tolumnia breeding line is extensive but they do it in waves and your plant that is marked as Orchidom Bright Dawn was made in the same wave as the one that I am directing you to. Mistakes happen in greenhouses, a tag is easily misplaced. If this is not good enough for you, send me a picture when the flower is fully open and I will run it by my friend and see what she says.

That was one of my next guesses and Dino did carry that one as well. It's not exact either, but I get the feeling these are all seedlings, so do differ. Here is a picture of it now more fully opened. On my computer the colour is very accurate. It's a fairly normal bright yellow with dark burgundy and that blush of colour on the upper petals and lighter burgundy in the centre. I want to name it but don't want to cheat by putting a name on an unknown! It isn't in the running for an AOS award or anything I'm sure, but it could win a ribbon cause its so darn cute and healthy looking ![Smile](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/smile.gif)

Silken - of course it is up to you but I would feel very comfortable using the second ID, especially after seeing how variable the cross is and knowing that they were being processed at the same time and that your vendor carried both. The chances are that a worker at the greenhouse in the Dominican Republic or a worker or customer at your vendors business put the tag back in the wrong pot. Either way good luck with what ever you decide.

I'll go with Alameda Beth for now. If you feel like running it by your friend at Orchidom I'd be most grateful. But it looks like they do have quite a bit of variance from plant to plant.
Thanks everyone for looking! Maybe I'll post another photo when they all open up!

Glad you found a tentative name for it. That's a beautiful Tolumnia! Love the blush on the petals, adds that extra something to the yellow and burgundy. ![Smile](http://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/smile.gif)
