I wouldn't split it at that size, the general rule is 2 big bulbs and a growth or three smaller bulbs and a growth per division. Miltoniopsis will usually divide themselves once the plant is big enough.
BTW, the whole warm vs cool Miltonia thing was started to differentiate between what is now Miltoniopsis and the true Miltonias (spectabilis and that group). Pansy Miltonias (Miltoniopsis) will not take nearly as much light or heat as true Miltonias, they were therefor called cool Miltonias - based on upper temperature range and light conditions. They are not, strictly speaking, cool growers, their
optimum temperature range is 60-70F all year long.
