Frank, I grow mine in very loosely tree fern fiber. It is native of our coastal forests, so it loves humid environment, but with a slightly drier period during winter. It does not rain during winter in the region of occurance, but a very humid fog coming from the sea provides plenty water in the afternoons. Also bright places is something it appreciates much.
